Paz DVerified Sahara Tours 4x4: Professionalism and Magic in Morocco My partner and I have just returned from a week-long trip to Marrakech and the Sahara Desert, and I wanted to take this opportunity to share our experience with Sahara Tours 4x4.While planning our stay in Marrakech was relatively straightforward (there are plenty of riads and hotels), our main concern was organizing a multi-day excursion to the desert. After reading numerous reviews, we knew we wanted to visit the Sahara—undoubtedly the most stunning for its dunes and colors. Like many travelers, we debated between joining a group tour or booking a private one. In the end, we opted for private transportation, and it was absolutely the right choice.Choosing the right company was another big question. After going through many reviews, we decided on Sahara Tours, and we couldn’t have been happier. Our initial email contact connected us with Said, the owner, who always responded promptly and efficiently to our questions. Based on recommendations, we initially booked a 4-day tour to the Sahara Desert. The organization of the trip and the support we received throughout were consistently professional.Unfortunately, our stay coincided with bad weather, and snow closed the Tiz In Tzha Pass in the High Atlas. Our driver, Mohamed (our dear Moha), handled the situation with great prudence, waiting until it was safe before ultimately deciding to return to Marrakech. This unexpected event meant we had to modify the entire itinerary, and Said was incredibly helpful in reorganizing everything. Instead of the original 4 days, we completed a 3-day tour—but even with the changes, it was an unforgettable experience.Just to witness the reddish hues and shifting shadows on the desert dunes at sunset, the star-filled sky at night, and the breathtaking landscapes of the valleys along the way (the Valley of Roses, Todra Gorge, and the Draa Valley), the journey is absolutely worth it. Yes, the trip is long, the roads are two-way and pass through many villages, but for us, that was part of the charm. It gave us the chance to see everyday life and experience the authenticity of local communities. We also had the opportunity to visit iconic cultural landmarks, such as the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and even step inside a private home where local artisans hand-weave carpets. In addition, we explored small workshops run by local experts in fossils and desert stones, which added a fascinating touch to the experience. From a logistical point of view, spending two nights allowed us to experience two different types of accommodation. In the Valley of Roses, we stayed at Riad Tizawa, a small and cozy hotel with decent food. Once in the desert, the tented camp was fantastic (very well equipped, and the staff was absolutely charming). We were only two couples that night, and they went out of their way to make it special, lighting a bonfire and singing traditional songs. The vehicle used throughout the journey was a modern, well-equipped tourist SUV. As for our driver, Mohamed (Moha), a local, he was simply the best we could have asked for. Personally, we learned a lot from his patience and his calm outlook on life—especially during our long wait in the snow at the Tiz n’Tichka Pass. He knows his job, the roads, and was always extremely cautious behind the wheel (which is a huge plus in Morocco). Without a doubt, Moha is not only a great professional but, above all, a genuinely good person who always gave us helpful advice and took care of us throughout the entire journey. For us, coming from Spain, this trip has been a wonderful discovery, and we feel like we’ve left so much still to see. Moha told us that in the desert, you can organize specific multi-day tours to visit certain dunes and landscapes. Said also mentioned that they could help us plan a trip to explore Fez and other Moroccan cities. Without a doubt, if we return, we’ll look for them again, and when our friends ask, we’ll definitely recommend Sahara Tours. We truly couldn’t be happier with the experience. Muhammad SVerified Morocco Adventure I have such a wonderful experience in Morocco thanks to Mr Hassan's tour agency. Everthing was handled smoothly from the administration and the planning. We had Mr Youseff our driver to accompany us for our 2 weeks of our non stop adventure. He is very knowledgeable and helpful to us. Safety is their priority and they always check on our well being and our health throughout our trip. Overall i recommend sahara tours to anyone! Diego AVerified It has been an experience we will not forget in life. Thank you to Sahara Tours 4x4 for organizing such a complete tour.Aziz has been an excellent guide.I recommend this company because they care about travelers at all times and collaborate so that we enjoy a few days of vacation in Morocco. Blanca RVerified A "once in a lifetime" experience at Merzouga desert Our experience was great from the start to the end and we couldn't be more happy to have trusted our first trip to Sahara to this company. First of all, I would like to highlight (and to thank) Youssef, our driver who so gently -and safely- drove us from Marrackeck to Sahara and back to Marrackeck during the 4 days we visited. He speaks perfect English, so communication was always smooth. Youssef toured us among the bereber villages on the way, introduced their culture to us which we loved, showed us Aït Ben Haddou -the "Gladiator village"- where one of the most famous scenes in the movie was shot-, and dropped us in Dar Hassan riad, from where we left to the desert to spend a magical night. First, there was the camel ride across the dunes during sunset time. We took beautiful pictures and did sand boarding. Our group was small, just the 2 of us and another couple, 4 people in total. After it, we arrived in the camp. The haima was top level facility, equipped with glamour and fine taste, there was hot water in the shower and soft bedsheet and towels. We suppered, listened to typical bereber live music around a fireplace and could see a sky full of stars. We slept like a baby, so calm and silent. The overall tour was good value for money, totally worth it, and I'd say it is a experience for everyone, I travelled with my husband, but for families and small groups is also a fantastic plan. Relax20319397635Verified Memorable desert experience Great - unforgettable experience and Mohamed the driver helps a 100% for this to be done. From the first to the last minute, everything was perfectly organized. Our driver, Mohammed, was amazing. Gentle, helpful He made us feel safe and comfortable along the way, while sharing stories and information that made the experience even more special. He was a great photographer!! olumpia tVerified ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Truly Unforgettable Sahara Experience – Absolutely Perfect! Our desert trip from Marrakesh to the Sahara was one of the best travel experiences of my life. Everything was flawless from start to finish, and I cannot recommend it enough. Our private driver, Mohamed, was simply exceptional. He was warm, respectful, and incredibly attentive to everything we wanted. He made us feel safe at all times, welcomed us with true hospitality, and handled all our little requests with patience and kindness. His car was spotless, comfortable, and he himself was extremely well-presented and professional. Traveling with him was a pleasure in every way — if you decide to take this trip, ask for Mohamed! The excursion itself was breathtaking. Both hotels we stayed at were amazing: beautiful spaces, wonderful staff, and delicious food that truly reflected Moroccan hospitality. Everyone we met was friendly, generous, and eager to make our stay unforgettable.Spending the night in the desert was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The luxury tents were fantastic, the atmosphere magical, and the evening music under the stars made everything feel surreal. The young men working there were cheerful, helpful, and made sure we were entertained. Even the camel guides were incredible — kind, patient, and always smiling.Everything about this trip was perfect. I have traveled a lot, but this was truly one of the most memorable journeys I’ve ever taken. I highly, wholeheartedly recommend it. And again: when you book, make sure you ask for Mohamed! Alexa RVerified Our Dream Came True! Wow.. Wow... WOW!! We (two adults and two teens - 18 and 15) have recently returned from a trip to Morocco and in between we took the Marrakech to Marrakech four day tour and can honestly say, hands down, it was one of the best trips we have been on. To begin with - a HUGE shout out to our guide Yousef - he was exceptional and we would 100% recommend him! He had the wonderful ability of being warm and friendly (chatting to my husband in the car for hours like two old friends) to being professional - we arrived everywhere on time, he was always ready waiting for us, he drove like we were treasured cargo and along with all this, he filled our journeys with so much extra details. We found out so many interesting facts and snippets on the culture, history and daily life, which in turn brought everything to life for us. Even the backdrop of Moroccan music as we drove was a nice touch. When we left the tour and carried on to the next part of our trip, we kept saying we missed him!!On the tour itself we stayed in a few different riads and none of them disappointed. each one was beautiful in its own way and was perfect for that stage in the tour. Dinners are all covered in the cost and they do not disappoint - each meal was three courses, really tasty traditional food and different each time. You just pay for any drinks you have on top. One tip I would suggest is ensuring you have plenty of smaller notes for tipping porters, waiters etc as it is not included in the bill. Also the lunches each day (which you do pay for) were around 10 euros a head and again nice clean and well run places and plenty of food!!One of the places I would like to mention specifically was the Sahara part. The luxury desert camp was breathtaking. The beds were so comfy and the little laterns lighting up the path was just stunning. Said arranged for us to have a private dinner in the sahara under the stars and it was like being in a movie - it has to be up there with one of the best experiences we have ever done. On the same night, a memory that we will treasure forever was dancing around the fire to live music. We all laughed so much and let loose and I can still picture my family's smiling faces full of happiness as they held hands dancing around. It was a truly special moment for all of us. At this point, I would like to give a special and huge thanks to Said. We were delighted to actually meet him in person as we had been in contact with him over the last five years since our original trip back in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID. I can genuinely say he has been excellent. Not only is he responsive, patient and a lovely person, but he also, unbelievably, honoured the deposit we paid back in 2020 for this trip. Such honesty and kindness goes a long way and he deserves an extra special recognition. I can honestly say there is not one thing i would change about the tour and full credit goes to Yousef and Said for making our longawaited holiday perfect in everyway. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making it so special and for giving us memories that will last a lifetime. Anton SchneidrVerified Unforgettable experience! Through the recommendation of a friend I came across 4 × 4 Sahara Tours, usually we like to rent a car ourselves and plan our route individually. And although the people of Morocco are very hospitable and open to tourists, in this case I was very happy that we did not drive ourselves, but the entire family could enjoy the scenery. Said from 4 × 4 Sahara Tours responded promptly to my emails and has always answered my questions to my complete satisfaction. The route could also be adapted according to our wishes. On the first day of the trip, our guide Hamid picked us up in our riad, we didn't have to wait outside or come to a meeting point, he came all the way to the riad! Then we started into the Atlas Mountains. Hamid is a very respectful and careful motorist, wheree have made us feel very comfortable and safe all the time. On the way we learned a lot about Moroccan culture and the area from Hamid. He can really answer all the questions! Through his calm and pleasant nature we all felt very comfortable (even the teenagers 😉). We were able to decide for ourselves how long we would stay in one place and even though it was sometimes tight in time, he always kept his cool and never rushed us. The accommodation in the Atlas Mountains was very luxurious and there was even a three course meal included in the price. The overnight stay in the desert was an extraordinary experience, apart from the also very luxurious accommodation and the attentive and friendly staff, we had an unforgettable evening with Europeans and Moroccans dancing and music around the campfire.Although the last stage from Merzouga to Fés was very long, there was never boredom, we had enough breaks to use the toilet or walk a few steps. On the way we listened to music according to our wishes and also Berber music, which fit very well to the landscape, it will stay with us very good memory! It may still be worth mentioning that we never stopped at stalls unless at our express request. Overall, this was the highlight of our trip to Morocco and I would recommend Sahara Tours and Hamid as a rider and guide to 200%! We would definitely come back!
